I’m giving up on this damn rails tut

-__- I dont know what the fuck happened, but I cant do my rspec spec/ for some reason; it keeps giving me errors and google/Stack Overflow (for the first time ever) isn’t helping.

-sigh-

I might try and start it over, but I think I just want a different one entirely. Besides, I don’t plan on making a site like the one in the example (basically a twitter), so I’m going to need to do a different tut down the line anyway.

Learned a lot, so I can use these skills for the next one. FORWARD!

no one ever told me Ruby was so interesting…

it seems just like Java almost, just a little different.

there’s a brief section going over a few things in my Rails tutorial, and I’m enjoying EVERY second of it. Going to definitely be sure to go read up more on Ruby after this.

RUBY ON RAILS IS FINALLY INSTALLED!

FINALLY!

DAMNIT!

I’ve had to install sooo many other things, I had forgotten what the objective was.

It’s taken me about two hours to get every set up.

But thankfully, I can start learning Rails (and Ruby). Wh00t!!!!!

i’ve had to install sooo many OTHER things and get them up and running just to get to the part where im supposed to instal Rails…

…and i’m not even there yet. x_x

had to install homebrew so i could use gcc.

Taking the plunge into learning Ruby on Rails

Lots of apps I’ve looked at call for experience in it, and since I’ve only heard of it, I need to get my hands dirty.

Gonna be following this tutorial, and hoping that I can actually learn it. It’s a rough week for me at work (they’re changing my normal schedule, having me work a double this Friday, THEN eventually teaching me another position in the coming weeks), but I think if I just come home, grab a pepsi, and breath, I’ll have some energy to study. Lucky me, I don’t close any night this week, so I have the night hours (my favorite!) to go over it.

Random benefit, the tutorial deals a little with databases I believe, so more practice with that! Scooooore!

Okay, gonna read a bit of the tut before bed. 9-3 tomorrow… doing dishes. -___- (then Planet Bread right after). Pandora, keep me strong.
